LEGAL NOTICE – TOWN OF WHEATLAND

Notice of Adoption of Resolution Subject to Permissive Referendum

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of April, 2026, the Town Board of the Town of Wheatland duly adopted a resolution, an abstract of which follows, which resolution is subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to Article 7 of the Town Law of the State of New York.

Whereas, it was moved by Supervisor Kirch, seconded by Councilman Call and unanimously carried,

Resolution No. 68 :

  •  WHEREAS, the Town of Wheatland has established a Reserve Fund known as the “Building Repair Reserve,” and

  •  WHEREAS, the Town of Wheatland intends to make entryway improvements at the Wheatland Municipal Building,

  •  NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, subject to permissive referendum, the Town Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor to withdraw a sum of $10,217.21 from the “Building Repair Reserve” and apply it to the entryway improvements.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a regular meeting held on the 9th day of April, 2026, the Town Board of the Town of Wheatland duly adopted a resolution, an abstract of which follows, which resolution is subject to a permissive referendum pursuant to Article 7 of the Town Law of the State of New York.

Resolution No. 69 

  • WHEREAS, the Town of Wheatland has established a Reserve Fund known as the “Building Repair Reserve,” and

  • WHEREAS, the Town of Wheatland intends to have the VCT Tile in the hallways and breakroom of the Wheatland Municipal Building cleaned,

  • NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, subject to permissive referendum, the Town Board hereby authorizes the Supervisor to withdraw a sum of $6,583.50 from the “Building Repair Reserve” and apply it to the cleaning of the VCT Tile.

Town of Wheatland – Trash Clean-Up Spring 2026

NOTICE TO TOWN OF WHEATLAND RESIDENTS OUTSIDE THE VILLAGE OF SCOTTSVILLE

Saturday, April 25, 2026, and Saturday, May 2, 2026, between the hours of 8 A.M. and 3 P.M. there will be dumpsters placed at the Highway Facility, 1822 Scottsville-Mumford Road. Town Outside Village Residents may bring trash to this location to dump in hoppers provided.

Proof of residency will be required.  A New York State driver’s license is acceptable.

Recycling of electronics will also be available.  All electronics can be recycled free of charge.

COMMERCIAL OR INDUSTRIAL BUILDING REFUSE WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

BRUSH, TIRES, FUEL OIL, GASOLINE DRUMS, REFRIGERATORS, FREEZERS OR PAINT CONTAINERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

DUMPSTERS WILL BE MANNED FOR ASSISTANCE.

2026 Spring Brush Removal

NOTICE TO TOWN OF WHEATLAND RESIDENTS OUTSIDE VILLAGE OF SCOTTSVILLE – 2026 BRUSH REMOVAL

The Town of Wheatland Highway Department will pick up brush at each resident’s home.  Brush pick-up will start on Monday, May 4, 2026.  The town residential areas will be first:

a.      Hamlet of Mumford

b.      Rolling Acres

After the residential areas are done, we will start at the west end of town and work east to cover the outlying areas.

Brush must be neatly piled, butt ends in same direction
 

1 truck load per household

Residential brush only

No fence row material, such as trees or large stumps
 

No brush over 6 inches in diameter

ONCE A ROAD OR STREET IS DONE, THERE WILL BE NO RETURN TRIP.

Public Hearing – Area Variance in Blue Pond Manor

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING:

The Zoning Board of Appeals of the Town of Wheatland, pursuant to Sections 130-11, and 130-23.B.(1) of the Code of the Town of Wheatland will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 7:00 P.M. in the Wheatland Municipal Building, 22 Main Street, Scottsville, NY to consider the following:

The application of FNR Properties, LLC of 72 Blue Pond Manor to seek an area variance to allow and construct an accessory structure that does not comply with the required front setbacks at 72 Blue Pond Manor in an AR-2 residential zoning district. Tax ID # 198.07-1-17.1.

All interested parties are asked to attend and be heard or to submit written comments concerning this application.
